Popup not closing on submit

Hi thanks for your amazing plugin. I am using it with the Mailchimp for wordpress plugin.

My problem is that when I press the submit button the modal window does not close immediately. There is about a 5-7 second delay before it closes. The subscription to the mailchimp newsletter works. I added a dummy form below the mailchimp form with an input field and an submit type button, and it’s the same timing.

I also have a redirect set in the mailchimp form sending the user to a successful subscription page. It works on the non-popup form, but doesn’t with the modal version. Is there anyway of fixing these two issues?
