Popup Slowing Page Load Speed

@tracey – Very strange, I’m not sure why that would be, is that the only popup you have created in your dashboard? Strangely enough that page has quite a few connection errors as well, that seem to be unrelated to Popup maker files, but if you disable PM the page speeds up to normal?

What’s really weird is their is no difference in the processes run on the home page vs that page. By that I mean it does the exact same checks and loads on the pages that don’t show a popup as it does on the ones that do. At most we are talking about 1-2 extra queries. I have a feeling its being compounded by other issues on that page as well.

Couple tests we can try. Remove the content from the popup. Disable the popup from that page. See if either of those have an effect.

Thank you so much for your help.

I looked at the content in the popup box, it was just a Gravity contact form but it had Captcha included. I disabled Captcha and the problem has gone away, pages are loading quickly now.

We can use Akismet to deal with spam.

Popups working well again.

I have re-enabled it on the home page.

@tracey – Glad you got it working. Not sure why the Captcha was causing such a page load issue.

There have been quite a few server and redirection issues. This is the simplest resolution and better than getting into more discussion over server performance. Thank you again for your help.
