I have Mailchimp for WP installed on two of my sites. One I payed for the pro version, the other I did not. However, I have applied the code in exactly the same way on both sites and the settings are exactly the same.

I want the popup to stop showing once a user has signed up. However, I have tested the functionality several times and the popup never goes away even after I verify that my email has been added to the Mailchimp list.

The “yes” radio button is checked next to “Hide form after a successful sign-up?” on the settings tab, but it still shows up. Below this setting it says ‘Select “yes” to hide the form fields after a successful sign-up.’ so I assumed this was an option, is there something I’m doing that is breaking this functionality?

I thought by choosing “yes” that meant a cookie would be added to the user’s computer and they wouldn’t see the popup anymore.

    Hi,

Hide after sign-up setting will hide it once, when someone clicks sign-up.

The Premium version has a plugin that will set a cookie after MailChimp for WP sign-up is completed. You need to install this add-on and have an active license for this to work.

Ok, that doesn’t make any sense. It literally says “Hide form after a successful sign-up?” If it only hides it immediately after they sign up but shows up again when they visit the page after that, then that’s incredibly misleading and shouldn’t actually be an option.

While I would like a response to my confusion above, as I mentioned I did purchase the premium version for one of the sites. Please walk me through how to add the cookie and stop showing the popup using a cookie because that’s not explained in your documentation as far as I could see.

Posting to this again as I have not gotten a response. I am still asking for help:

    Hey Morgen,

There has been some misunderstanding in our previous reply because you had mentioned pop-up. Please note that there is no pop-up feature in “MailChimp for WordPress” plugin. Are you using some other plugin to create the pop-up?

Also, since you have a premium version, you can contact us directly at “[email protected]” with the same email address you used to buy the license. This will help us reply to you much faster.

    Hi,

I also wanted to add that if you not using a pop-up and just displaying our form on your website, then you can permanently hide it from users who filled it by using the code at https://github.com/ibericode/mc4wp-snippets/blob/master/forms/hide-form-for-people-that-subscribed.php.

You will need to add that code to the “functions.php” file located inside your active theme folder.
