We love the popups we’ve made with Forminator forms and Popup Maker. Our site is just getting ready to launch, but recently, I don’t know if several days or a couple of weeks ago, the popups won’t close with the Close button, Esc, or Submit. also not always opening on click. Maybe an update to one of these plugins: Popup Maker Version 1.15.0, Forminator Version 1.14.7, Ultimate Member 2.1.15: December 24, 2020, Windows 10, Firefox and Chrome latest versions.
    Troubleshooting done so far:
    – Insured that no posts or pages have same form more than once
    – Moved the PopupMaker core and theme Default files to my style.css and disabled popupmaker loading of those. Also disabled google fonts loading.
    – Made sure no cookies for the popups.
    – Did all the Forminator recommended troubleshooting such as Ajax on/off…
    – removed all my custom code files and .css.

    – If I disable Forminator so no forms in the popups, the popups work fine.
    – Reactivated Forminator and disabled every other plugin (about a dozen) except Popup Maker and Forminator and it works fine.
    – Enabled Ultimate Member and forms won’t close.

I also reported this to Forminator, and will report to Ultimate Member next.
    Thanks, Kathy

    Hi @kengholm

    Thank you for reaching out!

I’m sorry to hear you’re having this trouble on your site. I have checked your site and found a jQuery error on one of your plugins. This has affected the functionality of your site, including the popup.

I would suggest checking our documentation Checking JavaScript Errors so that you can verify this on your end.

I would also like to add to check this documentation to isolate a plugin/theme conflict Test if a Plugin or Theme Interferes with Popup Maker

Hope that helps. If your issue is resolved please take a moment to rate and review the plugin.
If you still need help please message us directly at https://wppopupmaker.com/support/

Thank you for the advice about js errors. I reported the specific error to Ultimate Member support.
I did follow the instructions for testing, and the results are the same. I’ll report back here when I know more.

AFter more days of troubleshooting, the close buttons started working again. It seems to have gotten better after I looked at the page editor in Code Editor view and found ONE Heading block that mysteriously had two different popups assigned to it. The Visual Editor showed no clue, and the dropdown for selecting which popup to use for the block acted normal.
I deleted that block and created it again, and now all seems well with this issue.
I can’t find anything in your documentation about the Block control for selecting a popup, but I discovered it in the editor control panel. That is how I assigned the popups to all the different contact’s Blocks, so there must have been a glitch when I selected that popup and it assigned two popups.

Response time for opening and closing the popups was still long and sometimes the forms weren’t appearing even though the window content shifted (adjusting the offset made no difference) and popup links became insensitive (have to hit Esc to close the invisible popup, assuming that Esc is set as a close mechanism) so I turned off the overlay for all the popups on the page and it stopped page jumping, greatly improved responsiveness and now the popups show up most of the time when a triggering element is clicked.
The Close buttons are still working so I’m resolving this topic.
