Porfolio showcase multiple images

Hi

This may seem pretty simple for an advanced user(I’ll get there hopefully)
I would like to create a portfolio page/system. I have created my custom post type as well as my custom taxonomies and meta boxes. I call these meta boxes in my portfolio-detail.php page.

What I would like is to have multiple images display in a slideshow. You would upload the images using the usual wordpress uploader andthey would appear in a slidehsow on the template page

I have seen this many times on various pro themes. Can someone point me in the right direction?
