Port 8080 being stripped out of feed item URLs

I have wpematico setup and pulling items from feeds successfully, but I am having a problem with the urls.
I selected the option “Post title links to source?” to link back to original url. The original url has the port “:8080” in the url, but it is being stripped and causing the links back to fail.
Is there anything I can do to check it? If I add the feed into Safari or an RSS app, the links work as expected.
I’m not sure if it’s a problem with the plugin or my server. I am running it on nginx with a varnish cache front-end.
