Portfolio grid will not be displayed if polylang is activated

I didn’t activate this option in polylang settings. Is it necessary to translate the portfolio images?

Your grid which are not displayed, are provided by Revolution Slider or directly from your Media library or other?

No it doesn’t provide from revolution slider. It’s a part from visual composer.

I deactivated the polylang plugin. Now you can see the portfolio grid under the revolution slider:

Could you provide a screenshot of your Polylang settings in Settings > Languages > Settings tabs?

Could you provide your screenshots in English please?

Maybe you can understand the german screens from the polylang settings?
If not please give me a tipp, how I can change the Gui language.

With visual composer you will get a “construction kit” so you can build your page with “drag & drop”. You can define rows and columns and inside it different items like images, textboxes, headlines or other things like the portfolio grid.

First you have to define a title image for every portfolio article and a category. The reference of this image comes from the media library.

Then you add the portfolio grid item into the page on the position you want to display.
In the settings of this item you define the layout and the categories you want to be displayed.

After setup the Portfolio grid, how you pick up the 7 images?

I have 7 german portfolio pages with the category “übersicht” and final 7 in english with category “Overview”. The portfolio grid on the german homepage benotti.de picks up this seven images because “übersicht” is defined unter “Display items of selected categories” (see bottom of this screenshot). Similar the english page with “Overview”.

How you assign “Overview to your image?

Sorry for late reply, but I had to work until now…

There is no option to assign the category to the image itself. The only thing I did is to assign the image as article image and the category to the portfolio article.

I tried what happens if the option Media (Activate languages and translations for media) is activated and assigned a german to the image, but it doesn’t make a difference.

Hmm… I found something is strange… In the list of installed plugins no plugin has a button “edit” on my installation. On a separate local installation the most plugins has a “edit-button”.

I deinstalled polylang and installed it new, but it doesn’t matter… Is it possible, that my installation is corrupt?

Did you try to translate it?

Some users use Polylang and Visual Composer without any problem.
So it’s maybe an incompatibility with the theme or another plugin.

2) Did you test with your theme + only Polylang + Visual Composer with the other plugins deactivated?
3) Did you test with another theme (Twenty Fifteen) + only Polylang + Visual Composer?

I’m afraid that the problem isn’t polylang or the theme.The complete side was developed on a subdomain. After completing I moved the complete installation from the subdomain to the main domain with plugin duplicator.

I’ve testet the theme together with polylang on a local installation. No problems….
