Portfolio problems

In theme options > home layout do you have page content enabled in the homepage layout manager?

But yes I have page content enable on homepage layout and it doesn’t show anything..

Sorry, I forgot what forum I was working. This is only a option in the premium version. Otherwise you would have to edit a child theme and delete the file front-page.php.

Hi Hannah,

I am building a website with Virtue theme, but did not get the premium version. I am confused as to how/why my home page has a portfolio (which I titled “New Releases”) yet I can’t find a way to add any more products to it…. I don’t know how Reiki Hands of Love got there.

If I upgrade to the premium version, will all my info be transferred to the new theme automatically? Please advise.

If i delete that file (front-page.php) I could have the slider and iconmenu on homepage too?
Or just the Portfolio on homepage?

If you remove the front-page.php you won’t have the slider options.

tessasomnuk, Yes all the post data gets transferred, you only have to manually transfer your theme settings. You can see here: https://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue/#freetopremium

Portfolio and products are two separate things. They are not the same. You can add portfolio items in the portfolio section and product items in the products section of the admin.

The free version only has a carousel option for the portfolio posts, where premium has options for either.

Can you explain why there is an album (that links to a product page) on my home page in the Portfolio section (which I titled New Releases)? There is no Portfolio tab in my wordpress backend so I don’t know how it got there. How can I add more items to this?

Do you have the virtue toolkit installed? At one point it looks like you did to create a portfolio posts, could have been from a different plugin.

as for the link it’s actually linking to : https://deutermusic.com/reiki-hands-love/ and when wordpress doesn’t find anything there is redirects to https://deutermusic.com/product/reiki-hands-love/

Just make sure the toolkit is installed then you will see portfolio post option.

You can install by going to appearance > install plugins.

so I installed the toolkit, created a portfolio post, and published it, but I’m getting an error 404 now. any idea why?

Yeah, you probably just need to re-save your permalinks.

that worked! one more question… how can I get an actual photo or video to show up on the portfolio page? I tried a couple different codes for the youtube embedding but it’s still just showing up as a link: https://deutermusic.com/portfolio/reiki-hands-love/

Are you pasting the embedded code in the video project box in the portfolio post edit page? And have you selected Video beside Project Options?
