Hi folks, I have just installed the sketch theme and still very new with how to use the portfolio with jetpack. Basically I am trying to have sub sections for my work with a featured image you click on taking you into a gallery. Kind of just like this website and he way it’s laid out https://lymathimages.com/
instead of my current setup on https://jamesadair.co.uk/.

Thanks for any help or advice

Did you get things set up as you’d like, since this thread as marked as resolved?

If you’re still interested in learning to set up the featured-content slider like the other site you linked to, feel free to check out the setup guide here:

Just let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks Kathryn for your reply.

Currently I am trying to change the lay out of my portfolio galleries and also how my picture/photos appear in my blog. I also seem to have a current problem with my site displaying correctly. Hope you can help.

Firstly in blog posts how do I display my photos all the same size and in a grid like style, eg like this blog here, the lady has several posts of 10 images all appearing the same size https://elizabeth.place/ before you click on the post.

Secondly in both portfolio and blog sections how do I display single and more images without the image enlarging or going into a slide show, eg I am after what this site has https://www.foragables.co.uk/portfolio/project-type/seascapes/, when you go into one of these galleries you can then not click on the image inside eg like this https://www.foragables.co.uk/portfolio/portfolio/fishing-hut-and-washing/

Lastly, I seem to have some bug currently with how the website is displaying, currently it’s displaying in a blue simple theme. I have re-installed the sketch theme and updated wordpress but it still seems to not help. https://jamesadair.co.uk/ Hopefully by the time you see this I will have it sorted, if not thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi there,

Firstly in blog posts how do I display my photos all the same size and in a grid like style, eg like this blog here, the lady has several posts of 10 images all appearing the same size https://elizabeth.place/ before you click on the post.

For their blog posts, they are using the Jetpack Galleries feature. If you do not have that installed, you can install it and connect to WordPress.com to activate it. Then you will see a Jetpack section in your left dashboard navigation section. Click on Jetpack > Settings, and in the filters at right, click on Photos and Videos and then activate Tiled Galleries. You can then follow this guide for setting up galleries. I would suggest choosing large or full-size for the images and then for Type, select Square Tiles. Make sure the number of images are a multiple of the number of columns you choose. In other words, if you select 3 columns, you should have 3, 6, 9, etc. images in the gallery or the software will make the first 1 or two larger so that everything comes out in a nice square.

Secondly in both portfolio and blog sections how do I display single and more images without the image enlarging or going into a slide show, eg I am after what this site has https://www.foragables.co.uk/portfolio/project-type/seascapes/, when you go into one of these galleries you can then not click on the image inside eg like this

https://www.foragables.co.uk is using the Jetpack Portfolio feature whereas you are using a Gallery on your Front page. Once you have Jetpack installed and activated, go to Jetpack > Settings and enable Custom Content Types and then go to Settings > Writing and at the bottom you can choose the number of Portfolio Projects you want to display per page. You can see this support page for more on using the Jetpack Portfolio feature.

It seems that this is sorted out since I’m seeing Sketch on your site right now.
