Portolio item not showing up

  • Hi,

    I have one blog stream for written stuff, which I feed with posts. I wanted to create a second blogstream for photography and thought I would do this using the portfolio function.

    I created a portfolio category called “photoblog” and wrote my first portfolio item called “small moments” and nominated the photoblog category before publishing it.

    The item doesn’t appear under the photoblog category on the site -https://djpsych.com.au/portfolio_categories/photoblog/.

    I was trying a workaround creating the item as a page instead and placing it under the photoblog category in the menu. The individual page shows, but still no entry under the photoblog category.

    What am I missing here? Help appreciated.

    What theme are you using? A link to your site would be relevant as well.

    Just noticed that your version of WP is 3.3.1? If that’s right, you really need to get that updated ASAP – it’s a major security risk to be running an old version.

    Thanks for the heads up about updating – will do that today.

    I did post a link – https://djpsych.com.au/portfolio_categories/photoblog/ Just tried to hyperlink don’t know if that worked.

    My main aim is I want to be able to direct people to the photoblog itself as well as the various items posted under it. Does that mean I would need this as my permalink structure or does making it a portfolio take care of that?

    Hmm, I’m not sure that I’m going to be much help – because you’re using a commercial theme – which looks to be set up with Custom Post types or something like that. Since we don’t have access to commercial themes, it’s not really possible to help with theme-specific issues.

    Have you asked the developer for help? Theme Forest does provide help for their themes so far as I know – https://themeforest.net/item/polyon-futuristic-wordpress-theme/682648

    You might also try using a Custom Menu and using categories for the photoblog page – https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Appearance_Menus_Screen (assuming that it will work that way, again, so sorry that I probably sound clueless here :/).

    Ahh .. well you’ve been helpful in two ways. I didn’t realise it was a theme issue, so will follow up there now.

    And the custom menu idea that could be a work around – I’ll have a look into that!
