Positioning images with text (columns?)

Hello!

I just started using WordPress again with a fresh installation. I am having trouble with aligning images with text. I want the image (300 px x 300 px) to the left and then some text to the right of it. Now, I know how to align the image to the left so that is easy but the text wants to wrap around the image or is placed at the top while I want it to be relative to the picture so both sides look aligned with each other.

If I’m not wrong this was possible in older versions? Is there any way to create columns which is what I need I guess, without knowing too much about css?
