When they click the thumbs up icon it takes them to the page where they can submit their review. But it says “Excellent! Please Rate us 5-stars on {destination-name}”. How do I make it replace {destination-name} with something else? Or remove it altogether.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I am sorry you are experiencing an expected behavior. Can you answer a few questions for me?

    1) Are you using the Free or Premium version of the plugin?
    2) What version of the plugin do you have activated?
    3) Is this a multi-destination or single-destination funnel?
    4) Is this a funnel displayed using the shortcode (premium only)?
    5) Does your funnel have a Title?
    6) Make sure the “Review Prompt” field on the funnel is reflecting what you are expecting. This field does not support shortcodes (i.e. {destination-name})

Having the same exact trouble, Matt.

    1) Free version
    2) v 2.1.5
    3) Single destination
    4) No (free)
    5) Yes, funnel is titled “Funnel”
    6) Review prompt field is grayed out (a premium feature). Currently contains:
<h3>Excellent! Please Rate us 5-stars on {destination-name}</h3> ... and leave a helpful review

If 6 as you say does not support shortcodes, then I do not know why ‘destination-name’ is in there as a default. This can’t be edited by me.

So how do I get ‘destination-name’ shortcode to show “Google” as that’s the review link I’m using in the Review Destination field.

The free version appears to be crippled far more than really necessary.

Thank you for your response to these questions. Looks like you have an older version of the default option for the Review Prompt before it was revamped. I apologize for the inconvenience.

We will prepare a new patched version which gets this default value in existing installation updated.

Keep an eye out for a new version over the weekend.

@pracko This issue has been resolved and available in our recent release of version 2.2.0. We appreciate your patience and continued support with Starfish Reviews!

Please let us know if you experience any further issues, or have additional questions.

Matt, I have version 2.3.0 installed and still having the same problem. “Excellent! Please Rate us 5-stars on {destination-name}”

    {destination-name} should display “Google”.

Hey @pracko we’re testing the fix right now. Hopefully deploy this update very soon. No promises or ETA though.

@pracko sorry this took a while. We’re a small business right now with just 2 of us working on it part time. So it can take some time to get everything properly tested and sorted out.

We released version 2.3.1 that has a fix for this. Once you update, here’s how to fix this bug:

    1. Go to Starfish Reviews > Settings > Defaults tab.
    2. There’s a new box on the right called “Settings Toolbox.” Click the button in that box “Restore System Defaults.” That will remove the shortcode from the defaults.
    3. Now go edit your funnel and find the new meta box called “Toolbox” and click the “Restore Defaults” button there. That will pull those new defaults from settings into your funnel.

The new system defaults don’t include that deprecated shortcode. So it should look nicer now.

Sorry about the troubles on this. We’ve been moving as quickly as we can to improve the plugin, and sometimes we’ve missed something like this in the free version. But let us know if you have any further issues or anything else we can help with. Thanks!

Nope, sorry, still isn’t working. And when I click “Restore Defaults” in both steps 2 and 3, an “Oops! It failed!” error message appears.

But the whole ‘Thumbs Down’ process works just fine.

@pracko, can you please send me admin credentials to your effected site? I will personally check this out and see exactly what is causing the failure on the restore attempts. (matt AT starfish.reviews)
