• I’m building my first quiz with the current plugin version, it is great except for a flaw when I tried to edit some response options: the edit wasn’t saved, I had to delete the whole set and create a new one with my changes. Anybody else facing this problem? Any idea where the weak chain link might be?

    Hi,
I’ve not come across this before, but if you can reproduce please let me know what steps you take to create the issue.
Or you can download the CSV questions and send them over to me and I can see if its something strange in your characters.

Hi and thanks for your quick reply,
I’m enclosing the questions of my test quiz:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/81484517/quizQuestionsExport.csv
The questions are in German, but both those with and those without diacritical letters are affected.
The problem occurs every time I try to edit one of the entries of the “responses” tab. This relates to all multiple choice questions, no matter if one single or more than one answer are possible. Changes in the categories “Question” and “Feedback” are being saved, whereas of “Possible Answers”, neither the answer itself nor any of the feedback options can be changed once they have been created.
    Thanks, Martin

Hi thanks for the file. I successfully downloaded and imported your questions. I can also edit and update the response options OK. Very strange.

When you click ‘Edit’ for each response option are you making the changes and then clicking ‘update’ in the popup window. The save action for the response options is different than the main ‘Save’ button which only appears in the “question” and “feedback” tabs.

Yes I do, as the alternative to get back to the previous page would be “cancel” (as one would expect). Now, I wouldn’t consider that a crucial issue but of course, it doesn’t make life much easier ??
As it grows, a WordPress CMS with all its different components gets more complicated the more sophisticated it gets with time, usabilitywise, but I’m sorry I can’t go through the process of deactivating and reactivating my theme and all my plugins right now to find out which of those might interfere with my quiz plugin. It’s no big deal, your plugin has many useful features so I’ll use it anyway, if you happen to come across a possible reason without this, all the better.

Thanks Martin, I’ll activate those plugins and give it a go.
I’ve written a plugin that tests the database access i.e. are the permissions setup correctly.
    Might be worth checking:
    https://www.efolio.soton.ac.uk/qtl-test.zip

It basically creates a test table, adds some data, then removes it.

    Hi Alex,
the plugin found “Returned data OK”, twice.

    Thanks
