• Hello,

I have a Woocommerce website using WordPress and the OceanWP theme. I noticed that the settings under customize > woocommerce > advanced styling no longer have visual representation of the color settings (screenshot here of what I now see:?https://snipboard.io/MxOjVP.jpg). Without color swatches that show the changes as I make them, this makes it much harder to edit colors and styles quickly. It also now seems like any color updates I make are not visible live on my site even after I publish them. Can these issues be fixed?

I was informed by my website support team that I should reach out to you for assistance here, since we are unsure if this is a bug with the OceanWP theme or intentional choice by the developer. Thank you.

    Thank you for reaching out,

?We have not received any similar reports so far, and we cannot reproduce it on our end.

However, it seems it’s a plugin conflict. For troubleshooting, please do the following steps and let us know the results:

    0. Enable the primary theme(if you are using a child theme).
    1. Head over to WP Dashboard > Plugins.
    2. Deactivate all plugins.
    3. Then, first, activate Ocean Extra plugin.
    4. Check your issue.
    5. Then, activate your plugins one by one
    6. After activation of any plugins, check your issue

Note 1: You can try troubleshooting on the staging website/or on a fresh installation and ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme and plugins(before updating, please get a full backup from your website).

Note 2: If you have any cache plugin or server cache(CDN / Browser Cache and Cookies and …), you need to clear its cache contents or disable them to see your changes. Also, remember to click on the regenerate all assets file and data in Elementor > Tools(if you have Elementor).

Please recheck your issue and keep us posted.

    I hope it helps.

    Hello Shahin,

Thank you for your response. I deactivated all plugins and the problem disappeared and I was able to see the usual color swatches in the styling options. The first plugin I reactivated was the Woocommerce version 9.1.2 plugin, which is essential to my site. When I then rechecked the issue, I once again found the same issue with the style color swatches no longer displaying. It appears the plugin conflict is coming from Woocommerce?

I did notice this message had appeared in my WordPress dashboard a couple days ago before I reported this issue, but it has since disappeared: https://snipboard.io/tqT4Pd.jpg

” Your theme (OceanWP) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files. These files may need updating to ensure they are compatible with the current version of WooCommerce. Suggestions to fix this:

    1.            Update your theme to the latest version. If no update is available contact your theme author asking about compatibility with the current WooCommerce version.

2.??????????? If you copied over a template file to change something, then you will need to copy the new version of the template and apply your changes again. “

When I reported this message to my website support, they said they could not find any outdated templates at the time. I also don’t see any theme or Woocommerce updates.

Lastly, I have not used the Ocean Extra plugin previously. However for troubleshooting I tried installing/activating it, but it did not resolve the issue, so it has been deactivated/removed.

    Hello @firstquartermate,

    Thank you for reaching out,

Did you test that issue on a fresh installation? If not, please try to reproduce the issue on a brand-new WordPress. If it happens, please send the steps you’ve used to reproduce the issue.

Please check the console error on the customizer and send a screenshot from there. It could be related to an SSL issue, kindly install this plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/really-simple-ssl/ and recheck the issue.

Regarding the “outdated templates” please ensure to use the latest version of the theme, we already released a new version: https://docs.oceanwp.org/article/653-oceanwp-theme-changelog#:~:text=Compatibility%3A%20WooCommerce%3A%20Single%20product%20featured%20image%20template%20number.

If you are using the primary theme(not the child theme) and still seeing this message, it could be a cache issue; so if you have any cache plugin or server cache(CDN / Browser Cache and Cookies and …), you need to clear its cache contents or disable them to see your changes. Also, in Elementor, please don’t forget to click on the regenerate all assets file and data in Elementor > Tools; and finally use hard-refreshing keys and recheck the issue. To refresh the page, please follow the steps explained in this link:
    https://www.documate.org/automation/what-is-a-hard-refresh-how-to-do-a-hard-refresh-in-any-browser/
    https://www.usmobile.com/blog/how-to-do-a-hard-refresh-on-your-browser/
To clear cookies, use this icon: https://postimg.cc/0rtp7SS9.

Clearing all caches depends on the cache at the ISP, which might take time. Alternatively, you can check it on a device that you haven’t used to access your website recently or check your website on a guest browser.

    I hope it helps.

    Hello @skalanter,

Thank you for your assistance. I and my website support team checked and verified that my site’s SSL certificate is valid and working as seen here: https://snipboard.io/PEmHat.jpg

I also confirmed that my OceanWP theme is already updated to the latest version 3.5.8. My website and browser caches have been cleared, and I have also tried going into the customization menu in incognito browsers (Chrome and Firefox), on two different devices, but the same issue persists from my initial post.

    Hello @firstquartermate,

    Thank you for reaching out,

We have not received any similar reports so far, and we can not reproduce that issue on our end.

We need to know the steps to reproduce on a fresh installation.

Kindly provide a detailed explanation to us step by step how we can reproduce the issue so we can recreate it somewhere other than your website.

Also, please provide us with your system environment information. To do this, please go to WP Dashboard > Tools > Site Health > Info Tab and click on the button Copy site info to clipboard. You can send the information as code here or upload them to https://pastebin.com/ and get an exclusive link: https://i.postimg.cc/fbjtkFyJ/image.png(you can remove your email address from the content).

    Please keep us posted.
    Thank you

    Hi @skalanter,

The best way that I can describe how to reproduce the issue is to go from the WP dashboard to Appearance > Customize > Woocommerce > Advanced Styling.

Also, please find the requested system information here: https://pastebin.com/ACesUduG

    Thank you.

    An additional update:

I created a staging site, and then deactivated all plugins using the Meks Quick Plugin Disabler. After activating only Woocommerce, I checked the Advanced Styling (as well as General Styling under General Options) and the color swatch options were visible once again!?

However, and confusingly, the issue returned after activating any plugin. I tried a couple times, activating a plugin one at a time, checking the customization menu each time, then deactivating the plugin and refreshing the page each time, repeating for a few of the plugins. The same issue occurred after activating any plugin. Additionally, after doing this test, and deactivating all plugins again (except Woocommerce), the Advanced Styling color swatch settings would not reappear.

    Hello @firstquartermate,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry for the trouble.

Even on a staging site, you may have some plugins and assets that could be affected, such as the cache plugin.

Try using the developer tools of your browser to check for any console errors. You can also check the /path/ of the error: https://developer.chrome.com/docs/devtools/console/understand-messages. It may be helpful.

However, I would recommend testing on a brand new WordPress(not on a staging website) and installing your plugins one by one.
Of course, it could be affected by some settings, such as the JS combiner in some plugins. To ensure that this is not present in our products, first find the plugin conflict.

First, install OceanWP and the Ocean Extra plugin, as well as WooCommerce, on a completely fresh WordPress installation.
Then, check the issue. If it doesn’t occur, continue and add your plugins one by one.
After adding each plugin, check the issue. Repeat this step until you identify the conflicting plugin.
If you have installed all the plugins and the issue doesn’t occur, it means the issue stems from one of the plugin’s settings.
I doubt the caching plugin you’ve used, so you can check this plugin’s settings first: https://postimg.cc/PLHqrNKk.

Continue doing those steps until you find out what product is causing a conflict with our product. Then provide the details as explained above.

One important thing to do after enabling each plugin is to clear all cache and cookies. Your browser might be showing the cached version due to the presence of CDN and cache plugin(s). But it’s better to disable them; also check the site on the Guest Browser(where there aren’t any extensions to affect your browser).

The above steps will help you to find the conflict; please let me know if you have any questions about the above steps.

    I hope it helps.
    Best Regards

Hello, my website support team was able to perform the test on a fresh site on my behalf, replicate the issue, and confirmed that the issue appears to be with OceanWP.

Is there another solution to resolve this, or is it likely possible that this issue will be resolved in an upcoming update to the OceanWP theme?

    Hello @firstquartermate,

    Thank you for reaching out,

Could you please share the steps to reproduce the issue on a brand-new website?
*Providing a detailed, step-by-step guide will help us effectively inspect the issue you’ve encountered.

So we need to see the issue on a fresh installation to understand which settings or plugins might be causing conflicts, and then we can provide a solution.

    Thank you for your understanding.
    Best Regards
