Possible Bug – Tag Errors – Purchase Events Not Recorded

Hi,

Thank you for all the hard work with your plugin. It’s a great plugin.

I’m having an issue with recording purchase events / transactions with Google Analytics.

This started happening within the past 2 -3 weeks.

Official Google Tag Errors Reported on Checkout Page.

Through test transactions and using the tag assistant chrome extension I noticed that there are errors being generated on the order-received checkout page which is the page that sends the purchase event to GA (Google Analytics).

The errors are:
– Number field should not be quoted: ‘transactionTotal’
– Number field should not be quoted: ‘transactionShipping’
– Number field should not be quoted: ‘transactionTax’

This is the only event that’s not firing which is stopping me from tracking my ROI from my campaigns.

I’m trying to troubleshoot from my end and before I open the rabbit hole to try and resolve this myself I wanted to see if these errors are the actual culprit?

P.S. – Also in my troubleshooting after looking at the data layer on the order-recieved page it looked like a “gtm4wp.orderCompletedEEC” event was being referenced that I never seen before. I could be mistaken but I followed your steps to the “T” on your website when it came to setting GA with Tag manager but I never saw you mention that event in any documentation.

I added that event to my GA Event Tag as well as “gtm4wp.orderCompleted” thinking that was the missing link but that still didn’t helped.
