Hi,

I think I may have found a bug. For some reason, the telephone fields are not showing in my form. The field exists, as it shows up when you mouse-over where the field is supposed to be. The field still works, I can fill it out, and submit it. I’m not using any additional CSS to style the sheet and I’m using CryOut Creation’s Tempera theme out of the box. So, I doubt it’s conflicting with anything.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

This is almost certainly due to CSS styling applied to standard HTML form elements within your current WordPress theme.

To change the style of your CF7 forms you would need to edit the CSS style sheets used by your WordPress theme.

See Styling Contact Form for a general explanation of styling CF7 forms using CSS.

Use Firebug or Chrome Dev Tools to first understand and then change the CSS used for your CF7 form elements.

Hi,

I understand how to change CSS, and I realize that that’s the problem. When I use “Inspect element” in Firefox, the classes that are associated with the Tel box are coming from Contact Form. I’m having a rough time trying to pin down exactly what CSS to change.

Hello again,

I have done some detective work. It turns out that the Tempera theme is the culprit. I was able to replicate the bug with a clean WordPress install, Contact Form 7 and the Tempera theme.

I will be asking them on how to fix the issue at the problem is with the theme, not Contact Form 7!

Please include a link to your Contact Form 7 form.

If you “understand how to change CSS” it’s usually pretty easy to find how the HTML and CSS is configured in your CF7 form using Firebug etc.

Hi,

Also, I cannot show you the site, as it has not been launched yet. It will be https://shaarehessed.ca/. You can recreate the bug by installing the Tempera theme and Contact form 7, and use any telephone field in a form, and you will see my problem.

I will try Firebug, perhaps it will show me something different that just using “Inspect element”.

Nope, no luck. I keep finding the same bits of CSS, but none of it seems to be what’s causing the problem. I’m baffled.
