    Hello,

    I have this scenario:

    1. Order is made with product with 0 VAT.

    2. Then i change the product to have VAT included.

I come back to order to edit it.

    3. I delete the old producT(with 0 vat)

    4. then i add the new one. The value is without vat, but the VAT is not visible neither in order neither on invoice.

    Somehow it get loosed.

Here is a picture with the product added with VAT in step 4. https://prnt.sc/qvypa0

Here it is a picture with product with VAT when ordering this product from shop(so not when i manualy add it) https://prnt.sc/qvypqs

I even go further with the testing.

It seems that even if i made a order with the product with VAT. and then i delete it from order and add it again, it is added without VAT.

    I made a video [ deleted ]

    We are using woocommerce 3.9.1

    Thank you

    Hi @cristianciuberea

Manually adding products to an order does not recalculate VAT with each addition – you do not have to remove a product to see that. There is, however, an Add Tax button on the same line as Adding product that you will use to help include VAT.

    Hope this helps.

    Ok, thank you John.

I see something interesting after. After adding VAT to products, the older orders added VAT in order.

Is this the way it should work?

    Hi @cristianciuberea

When tax/vat is added to an order, no other orders will be affected. Adding VAT to order will add to the amount to all products included in that order- again, no other orders are changed.

    Hope this brings more clarification

    Hi John,

I dont think you understand my question.

Our company moved to be a VAT Company.

So before that, we had products with zero taxes. Then, i added taxes on products to reflect the VAT.

I expected that older orders to not have taxes in them.

But to my surprise, they all had after this change.

So… this is what i ask. It is normal?

The invoices were done, so this does not affeted us but made my think about how woocommerce really work ??

    Thank you

    Hi @cristianciuberea

Once an order has been created with or without VAT, changes will not occur. If previous orders did not have VAT but you now charge VAT, that means those previous orders will still not have VAT. Only new orders that are created will reflect the new changes made with VAT.
