    Good afternoon:

I noticed that my site is down after the v6.2.5 update. I haven’t had any issues with this plugin until now. I’m getting invalid cert errors when attempting to access my site. Please help! Thanks.

@nerdynel17 I notice the SSL certificate on your site has expired on may 1st.

The SSL certificate is not part of the plugin, but is either generated on your site by the plugin by following the Let’s Encrypt wizard, or installed by your host.

Did you generate the SSL certificate in Really Simple SSL using the Let’s Encrypt wizard?

    Hi:

Yes, I used Let’s Encrypt. I just checked this on my host and I do see the expiration; it normally auto-updates 30 days before expiration…

Update: My host was able to fix the issue with the SSL certificate. Thanks for assisting!

My site https://curatednow.ca also crashed with todays update to 6.2.5. I can’t access the backend of the site and hesitate to disable the plug-in via sql. Unlike the earlier user, my ssl certificate is valid. Can you offer any suggestions?

@markfotore your issue is not related to the issue of the thread starter. For that reason it is always preferable to start your own thread.

I’ve checked your site: the problem is that you have not updated the free version of Really Simple SSL in a while, but you have the latest version of our add-on, which requires a recent version.

The easiest solution is to rename the plugin folder of the add-on, then update Really Simple SSL. You can then rename the add-on back, then activate it again.

That worked thanks. And yes… I had a possible issue with 6.2.5 update, it broke my site.

@markfotore Glad that resolved the issue!

I understand that from your perspective, the issue is the same. The problem is however, that if two different issues are on the same thread, this can become very confusing, as two different users with two different issues (which might look the same on the front-end) are posting information. For this reason we always ask everybody to start their own thread, even it the issue seems similar. This is a perfect example: the thread starter didn’t have an issue because of the update, but because the SSL certificate expired. Your issues was caused by an incompatibility between the free plugin and the add-on.

Some time ago, in a similar situation, user A applied a fix, which was meant for user B. Confusion all around! ??

You’re quite right. I apologize. It was later in the evening when I got the notification that the site was down and I just latched on to the first thing that seemed like it might help.

thank you for your help and quick response… your work is appreciated.

    Mark
