Possible or not: choose category, then date, then event

Have you tried using https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-fullcalendar/ With this plugin you would have a Calendar and a Category filter.

Hi, I use that on another events site, and it’s great. But on this site I cannot use it. The reason I cannot show events in the calendar is because my events are multiple recurring events with many recurrences each day. The calendar would be huge.

I use a small calendar in the sidebar that links to an events list for that day. There are no events visible in the calendar. That works fine with the default workflow (date > event > tickets), but not with my other workflow: category events list > date > tickets.

So the start for my second workflow is a category events list (shortcode [events_list limit=”30″ category=”#_CATEGORYID”] ), not the calendar. Due to the many events I only show 30 events in the list, but to choose another date visitors must use the calendar to pick another date. However, that calendar is for all event categories, not the current category. I want the calendar to show only events within that category.

I could use the calendar widget to show the events for a certain category, but I don’t know how to show a different calendar for each category. So I need some logic like: if in category X then show calender for category X.

I hope this makes sense…

At the moment WP FullCalendar is the closest since it will refresh the events listing depending on the events category you choose in the dropdown.
