    Hi,

I keep getting requests for this, so thought to ask…

Is it possible to use your plug in to use WooWallet or other WooCommerce payment gateway to send crypto? (I’d recommend they use Coinpayments.net as their node when they do this)

Basically, my plugin awards points for ad watching and browser mining and all my users seem to want to give awards in crypto.

I already added a method to transfer points to WooWallet credit, so rather than write a tie in, I figure they could use VYPS to transfer to WooWallet and then to your crypto wallets for payout and I wouldn’t really have to do anything other than to tell them to install your plugin along with mine, WooCommerce, and WooWallet.

So is that possible? If not, is something you’d consider? Because they really seem to want to do this.

    Thanks!

    Hello Felty,

I also get this question a lot, in fact I should add it to the FAQ.

I do not recommend that people use WooCommerce and the WooCommerce payment gateway extension to sell tokens or other coins.

Instead I point people to my other extension, the Exchange extension. It is still in late beta, but it allows admins to set up markets using currency pairs. Users can therefore log on, send a cryptocurrency to their account, trade it for some other cryptocurrency, and withdraw it. This requires that there is a coin adapter that supports the coin/token being sold.

Additionally, I will soon? release a fiat coin adapter. This will let admins do fiat deposits from bank transfers. This is the other thing that people often request along with selling tokens. This will be announced on the blog when available.

Hope this answers your questions. Please let me know if you have any further questions about this.

    with regards,
    Alex

    Hi Alex,

Interesting. That its one way to do it. I will tell them to keep an eye on it for down the road.

For now, I keep telling them to just do the transactions manually like a physical store or just make paper wallets that they can scrape.

Selling crypto automatically through WC is like selling 3d printed bump stocks or recreational nukes. Interesting theoretical, but I usually tell them its a bad idea for security and legal reasons. ??

But your way seems like a good way to go about it and will tell them to keep on the look out when you do the exchange.

Thanks again for you time and putting this plugin out there!

    Marking as resolved… Thanks again!

I can’t wait for this feature, a single fiat adopter will solve many of my issues.
It will help me sell bitcoin by allowing local bank deposit and credit cards and then once the users account is funded he can buy bitcoin…
Please admin notify me when this adopter is available. I like yith woocommerce account funds plugin that is what am using for fiat but the process is not automatic, in the sense that i have to manually transfer bitcoin from the admin account to the user’s account after confirmation.
