well actually….it screwed up the code of my entire page by changing it to view only 1 entry at a time.

It’s very possible. And did you set it to show 1 “posts” or 1 “days”?

Define “screwed up”. What does that mean? Your site looks fine to me.

its pretty much resolved but i noticed something strange still happening.

the one entry per page works well. but then when you click on the various categories, it lists just an excerpt from the the entries.

this is an intricate request and perhaps its not possible, but can i have 1) just 1 entry per page as it is now, 2) but at the same time when people click on the “categories” is it possible to have excerpts from more than just 1 entry. i’d like to have excerpts from 10 entries on the categories page/s, while keeping the 1 entry per page of the entries.
