    Hi.
I’m looking for a event system with a special requested feature and like to ask if the free or pro version of Events Manager can handle it. I am not sure what it is called in English, something with coupons I think, but used a slightly other way. So short explanation:

The events comes in periods with recurring events, lets say 30 Wednesdays in a row, 1 hour every time. A user can order 10 “clips” meaning that he beforehand buy 10 Wednesday hours. Now he can use one of those “clips”, booking any Wednesday he like, if there is available space on that Wednesday. When he have no more “clips” he will have to order another 10-clip packet.

I really hope this makes sense explained in English. And that somebody can direct me to a tutorial or feature that I can use for the purpose.

    Thanks for reading.
    Thomas

    Hello,

Sorry but currently I’m quite confused. If I get it properly it’s like Buying slots for a specific Event + Hours then you can use them anytime in the future?

ie: You have an event every Wednesday with spans hourly from 8am to 5pm. You could then buy something like a coupon let’s say 5 coupons. Then use those coupons anytime on every Wednesday event?

    Hi timrv

Sorry for my poor explanation, English isn’t my first language.

Not exactly like your example. I will try to rephrase my question.

Every Wednesday there is an event with duration of 1 hour.
A user can log in and book that event as normal, for a certain price.

The person I build the homepage for, like to be able to sell a product, where the user buys 10 X Wednesday events beforehand, for a lower price.

When a user who bought that 10X product logs in and book an event, the system should know that he have already payed beforehand, and count one down of his 10X events, so he now only have 9 left to use.

I am now experimenting with the free version of EM. I made a recurring test Event and I can handle the sale of an event by making different ticket prices for users who bought 10X beforehand and users who didn’t. (just by making them choose different tickets)

But I can’t figure a way to handle the administration of users who bought the 10X beforehand. So for now the owner have to administer that manually, which is partly possible, since she can look up a user and get a list of events that user participated in.

So, my question is, if I miss some functionality in free version that can handle it – or if the Pro version of EM have some functionality that can, for example using the coupon feature with some moderation?

If not I think that would be a great feature for the future.

Thank you for looking into it.

    Hello,

I got the idea now. Currently there’s no 100 Automated for those whole functionality. You would still need to do some things manually.

I think one way to handle it is when a user purchases ie: 10x Wednesday. You would create a coupon that has a 100% discount and is valid for 10x use then lock that coupon to those events that it can be used. After you have created a coupon you would however need to manually send this to the customer.

Thank you very much for the answers!
First of all, now I have been experimenting with the free version, and I find it a really intelligent designed system, hence the thousands of options customizing both design and functions. Impressive that all is available in a free version. Thanks a lot creator and developers!

As I understand the possibility with coupon system it could be a way to go. Hope it’s OK that I ask a few more questions…

First, if I purchase the pro version for her, will that overwrite the setup I have made with the free version, can I simply keep building or do I have to start from scratch? I haven’t edited any core files, only made some custom fields and formatting.

Is the pro version translated into Danish as well?

So just to clarify. Using the coupon system I can manually send a code to any amount of users, each valid for a given amount of bookings. And I can make a ticket for a recurring event, charging the user an amount of money, but free if he enters the coupon code?

If so, can the coupon also be valid for a given amount of time, instead of times it is used?

And do I have other possibilities to state which events a given type of coupon is valid for? My case scenario was just an example, in real life she have events all weekdays, all made as recurring events. So to work properly, can I say that a certain type of coupon is valid 10 x times for 5 different sets of recurring events? Either with a specified ticket or for example by an attached category or tag?

Sorry for all the questions, but I would really like to be sure that it will work properly before I suggest she buy the pro version.

    Regards.

=> No, EM Pro is the official premium add-on to EM which means you need both plugins to make this work.

    => Yes

So just to clarify. Using the coupon system I can manually send a code to any amount of users, each valid for a given amount of bookings. And I can make a ticket for a recurring event, charging the user an amount of money, but free if he enters the coupon code?

=> for more information on how the coupon works you can refer to this link – https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/coupons/

And do I have other possibilities to state which events a given type of coupon is valid for?

=> Using EM Pro Premium Addon you can choose coupon availability per event by choosing “Only on specific events that I own” when creating or updating coupons. Note: this setting might not be available in case you are using multiple bookings mode.
