This is a volunteer project so I’m using the free base plugin to make only a handful of pages private. The intention is for the public to access most of the website, but have a separate page with information for member’s eyes only.

Based on what I’ve been playing about with, the site can either open to everyone, or only logged in users (barring specified pages). It seems more fitting for me to have the site accessible to everyone than have to specify every page on my website except for the few that I need hidden. By making the entire site only accessible to logged in users, I’m removing the possibility of the public-facing blog.

Is there any way I can get the best of both worlds without buying premium plugins or extensions?
