Possible to open a porfolio item tabbed/boxed?

Hi

I’d like to open a portfolio page as a simple box or tab rather than a redirect to a whole page. The page is good for displaying a product or something with many pictures, but I’d like to only use it for text or maybe one image.

Any ideas on how to solve this is much appreciated.
