Possible to search by tag(s)?

    Hi there, We have scenario where we’d like to try and add a search box (similar to the generic WP site search), but we’d like to ONLY search and display photos in the gallery. The search keywords would need to look at the photo, description, and the tags… specifically the tags. So if someone searches “blue, clean” we’d like to display all of the photos that have been tagged as both “blue” and “clean”. Is that possible? I’ve searched for a while for a plugin add-on or script someone wrote. But I’m not having any luck.

    We’re trying to avoid using the tag cloud approach, as there are LOTS of possible tags that the users could search through… and that would make for a very cluttered interface. So a search bar would be best. Thanks.

    Hi, @joshcarey,

    When inserting a shortcode of Photo Gallery, you will find Show tag box option in the settings. In this way, users will be able to choose certain tags and images will appear according to chosen tag.

    Hi, thanks for the reply – but if you read my last paragraph, we’re specifically looking to see if its possible to show tagged images via a search bar, rather than a tag cloud. Even if its not something the plugin is possible of doing out of the box… if we were to find a programmer to try and code search bar to filter through the image tags… Are the photos’ meta data setup in a way that a search bar could target and display them in the way that I described in my original message?

    Unfortunately, the Photo Gallery Plugin does not have the mentioned functionality yet. However, the feature you wish to have would be a great addition to the product. So could you please add your suggestion to our Submit Your Idea page?
