Possible without creating paypal account?

    Hi there! Great plugin, very useful. ?? I was wondering though, why you didn’t integrate with Paypal Express Checkout? I know that you can use PayPal and have the option of checking out without creating a PayPal account. When I tested your plugin out, it seems I am forced to make an account, in the end, no matter what I choose. Is it possible to change this? I may have some abandoned bookings because of this.

    Hi Maasha,

    The reason why is because I actually built another one of my plugins (digital downloads) around PayPal’s Express Checkout and I feel that it is just not a good solution yet.

    Not all countries are supported (if the customers PayPal account is from that country), it doesn’t work well on mobile, it doesn’t redirect well (PHP header issues), it doesn’t work with customers that have 2 factor authentication on their PayPal account (biggest problem of all), and it also has browser cookie issues.

    I agree that, when it works properly, it is a better solution. But at this time, I just don’t feel like it is stable enough to be used, sorry.

    Hi Scott,

    Wow, I didn’t know all that! Thanks for such a great explanation. This was really important for me to know because our customers are from everywhere. By the way, I’m also getting into tech development right now and was wondering how you figured all this out about the PayPal Express Checkout. Is it because of your experiences with the digital downloads plugin and do you have a github account explaining these experiences in your plugin? I’m curious if anyone else has contributed to these issues.

    Hi Maasha,

    A figured it out by just providing customer support for my free digital downloads plugin. I was going to make a pro version of the plugin but I just had to many problems with it. I do have a GitHub account, but I don’t actively use it.
