Post and Pages with the same permalink.

So far nothing is broken and everything on the WordPress site is running fine but I wondered if this is dangerous/has potential to be dangerous.

We have a section of listed posts for people go and view TV channels. Currently these are all posts. However we need pages to display the channels the we like but still have the same category listing to go to these pages. One of the posts had the same title as a page and seeing as both the page and the post now have the same permalink clicking on the post in the category list forwards to the page. In our case this is great because we keep both the category listing via the posts and for the ‘page’ we get to use WordPress pages. Still I wonder if there’s something wrong with doing this or any possibility of it going wrong.

I also wondered why pages overwrote post when they have the same permalink.
