I am in the early testing/learning stage. Installation went well. Things were moving along fine when suddenly … when I make a comment and post, and click the publish button, Message: “Post Published View Post” comes up, but when I click to view the post, I get a 404 error(page not found?)

Yet when I close down and come back to the blog, the post is right there on the front page.

So, things must not be working too well.

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Default theme (WordPress 1.5 – 2.9.2) or the Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can sometimes affect the admin panel).

I already have the Twenty Ten theme and I don’t know if there are any plug-ins. I’m thinking about just starting over from scratch. The banner heading on my front page has ceased to apppear as well. The “about” page is also gone. Maybe just a new start…
