Post by Email and Categories

  • I have post by email set up (via the admin writing settings) and it’s working fine. Now, I want to be able to specify what category emailed posts are assigned to. The codex says:

    Subject line
    If [n] is present anywhere in the subject line of your email, the e-mail will be filed under the category numbered n. Otherwise, it will be posted under whichever category is selected for “Usual Category” in Step 1. Example: [1] This is a Test! would be posted as “This is a Test!”, filed under General.

    But this is not working. [n] just posts as part of the blog title.

    Does anyone know why this might be? I’m using WP 3.2.1 and twentyeleven. It’s a very simple installation with almost no customization and only two plug-ins (Akismet and Reveal IDs).
