I am using jetpack’s post by email feature in my wordpress blog. Its working perfectly and posts to my blog when i send email to the address. But it does not post when the email is forwarded by the email server automatically to the post by email address. Earlier when i had set up such thing it was working fine but just from a few days back all the email forwarded automatically by the email server are treated as spam and are discarded. When i forward the same message manually its working.
NOTE: Email server forward all the mails from a specific sender to the post by email address.
How can i use such feature and disallow post by email from treating such message as spam??

I am sure that the emails are being sent and they are also received here but are discarded by the post by email server. I have tried changing the email servers too.
When i was using hotmail it worked but now nothing works.

    Same issue here. Any answer?

    Howdy,

With the second post, this slipped by me (thinking it was already responded to). I’m working on duplicating this. With the mail server, is it actually forwarding the e-mail or bouncing it to a new address?

Quick follow-up: I couldn’t duplicate this with setting up a server-side e-mail alias from a custom example e-mail address pointing to my [example]@post.wordpress.com e-mail address, so a bit more investigation will be needed.

    Its possible with hotmail.
Create a rule to automatically forward all emails from one particular sender to the email address.

No authentication is required in hotmail. And it used to work for me earlier.

Thanks for the additional information regarding Hotmail. I’ll see if I can duplicate using that service.

I’m afraid I can’t duplicate it. It’s working for me with both the Sender’s Address and Subject rules.

Could you try amending your rule to forward to another e-mail address you have access as a check to ensure that Hotmail/Outlook is forwarding the mail on as expected?

    Thanks!

I tried amending it and found that i receive the forwarded email. I suspect hotmail is not forwarding the email to the post by email address.

When it forwarded to my another email address there was no copy in the hotmail inbox but when i changed back to the post by email address there was a copy of email in my hotmail inbox.

The rule works for any email address but it doesnt work for post by email address.
I dont understand how to resolve this.

From your WordPress site, Users-Your Profile page, try regenerating your post-by-e-mail address to use a different address and try that.

I’m not familiar enough with Hotmail to know if they would block certain e-mail addresses from being forwarded to, but since my PBE address work, if that is the case, using a new address may clear it up.

    Thanks for the prompt reply.
But that did not work. I tried doing that but it is not working, the same problem persists.
I also tried with gmx.com but there too same problem.
I suppose, hotmail wouldnt block PBE email address.

I also created a fresh new email address in outllok.com and defined the rule with the new regenerated PBE address but still the same problem.

What is the URL of your site? I’ll dig through the logs to determine if there is anything helpful.

    Thanks!
