Post by Email (weirdness!)

  • I followed the codex guidelines for setting up post by email, using this tutorial:

    Placing the iframe text in the footer didn’t seem appealing to me, so I used the recommended code in functions.php.

    I have all the correct mail settings in place. I sent a test email, and it published to the blog as expected. What’s weird is that it published almost 30 times in a row. It literally made 30 identical posts, one right after another…all at exactly the same time last night.

    Has anyone had this happen? Is setting up a cron job a more reliable method?

    OMG. Can someone please offer some insight on this? The blog continues posting the same post over and over again! I deleted the email, but it continues posting. It’s now posted the same test post over 100 times, and it won’t stop!

    I deleted the code from functions.php, so I’m sure that will stop it, but what the heck?

    If it helps, I sent a SECOND test post, and it went through just once. It only posted the title…no body text showed up, even though I sent in plain text. But the original test post I sent continued posting over and over for days.

    Any insight is most appreciated!
