Post category vs Event category

I am confused about Event Categories and Main Loop integration.

If I create an event, I can set both its (post) category and its Event Category. Suppose I set both to “Concerts”. Is there a way to get the events listed within the list of posts in that category (e.g. /category/concerts)?

My understanding of the way the plugin works is that it should integrate the events with the posts, so that any query posts would return the events as well, however that doesn’t seem to happen in reality.
