• I create some categories like follow
    category01
    — sub-category11
    — sub-category12
    category02

if I assign a post to categorgy01 and category12, and check “Show post count”, the number beside “category01” will display “2” not “1”. in fact, I have only one post, why does the top category doubly count.

if the category have three level, like cat, sub-cat, sub-sub-cat, and a post belongs to three categories, I think the number of top category will count three time, right?

  • I also have the same issue. The child categories show the correct numbers, but the parent categories are doubled. This seems to only be happening for custom post types. For me at least.

Anyone else having a similar issue?

Has anyone found a resolution to the post count number issues? I too have the same issue where the Parent Categories count is double the value of all of the Child Category counts underneath the Parent Category.

I like the plugin and its’ versatility, but I can’t see any reason for this issue.

For the time being, you can see this effect at a site I am developing, within the right sidebar, and in the second categories listing. (I am trying several different category displays right now.) The developmental website is: https://newsite.zionsbranch.org/.

    Any help would be great!
