The problem is related to a known issue:

This is related to when there are two forms on the same page using similar IDs.

Can you please try to add this code as a mu-plugin?

The fix is coming in Forminator 1.14.12

About making the field not required I am afraid it is not possible at this moment, the only options are to make all required or not in the field settings.

An alternative maybe is using the visibility rules, you can add a radio or select field and use the visibility options:

Hi Patrick.. Thanks for your swift response.. As the current set-up using two forms is essentially a work around I’m not keen on using the first option you mention.. I also understand the position regarding required fields..This leaves your last suggestion which I think I understand but don’t quite se how to implement.. Can you provide a little more detail please? One thought I did have is to add a file upload field to the text only post data form but it appears there isn’t one (or am I missing something??)
