Post date & time position/colour

Hi,

I would like to add the post time and date under my post headings. Ive added “Posted on <?php the_date(); ?> at <?php the_time(); ?>” to the top of singlepost.pho which makes it appear on the single post page but not on the main home page

Also, how can I style the date to be a different colour?
