• Twice today while writing a post I would click save and continue and then when page reloaded, the post is gone. Pain when so much time is taken to write it. The first one showed up this morning finally after third rewriting. Now I am writing another and it is doing the same. I am going to be ugrading to 2.1 but now I am nervous with all the probs that are showing with 2.1 and me with this one already existing.

  • Which version of WP are you using?

I had this exact problem yesterday. I am using version 2.1

FYI. As a precaution I am writing everything in an editor and then pasting it into WordPress. Just a safe practice I always use.

I am using 2.07. Have been for a long time and this has never happened. Just this morning I wrote a long post..man..and saved and continued editing..then I get an empty box. It has gone. It isn’t in the drafts, nowhere to be found. Webeddy, that’s what I had thought of doing. I definately will from now on…

We are losing posts, too, using different installs of v. 2.1 and 2.1.2. Any clue anyone? Help. Thanks.

We’re still losing posts, too, using different installs of v. 2.1 and 2.1.2.

    V. 2.02 also dropping posts. Not entirely. But truncating them. Repeatedly try to repaste the missing text, save, but the post doesn’t save. When I use html editor and paste in the missing text (with html), then click update, it updates the entire thing, but then when I save it, wordpress drops it again. Help! – D. Chan

I find that I am unable to exceed a limit of characters in the post box, whether I manually type them or paste them. If I try to paste, it will not paste more than the limited amount. If I type manually, the characters will not save. This is screwing up my blog and driving me nuts. Didn’t have this problem with WordPress 1.5.

This is also happening on my blog and driving me nuts.

I can’t help asking how come this is not resolved yet since, for me, it appears to be one of the most problematic issues.

… similar problem with me, but with wp 2.2 (Gengo, WordPress,…)

    always happends while editing

    my details here

In my limited experience it’s not a deleted post but only an unfound post and If I had to guess your systems clock is way out of line such the post is actually scheduled to appear sometime in the future. It’s also possible your plugin has the wrong idea of the date.

Finding these lost puppies isn’t pretty, since the search box is the only tool I know of that will find those future posts.
