    Hello,
The expected behavior when starting a new draft post is for the publish date to show “Immediately” (no actual date), but with Woocommerce plugin activated the post date on a new draft post is showing today’s date… This is problematic for editing a post or several posts over a long period of time, if we forget to update the publish date then the post will publish on that old date and not show up in our archives correctly.

I tested this on multiple sites to confirm. Any time Woocommerce is installed/activated, and I go make a new Draft Post, and save the post, then the publish date changes to todays date/time… It should not be doing that, it should continue saying just “immediately” – no actual date until it’s published or the admin sets a date.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I’ve been chasing this issue for a few weeks now as well.

The issue we have, which sounds exactly like the original post is that we create a draft of a post at say 9am. This might be edited a few times through out the day and then published at say 4pm. Previously, when it was published at 4pm, the timestamp for the post would be 4pm.

The issue now is that when published at 4pm, the timestamp for the post is 9am (the time when the original draft was created). This has only started happening recently.

After reading the above post, I have tried disabling WooCommerce and can confirm that this seems to resolve the issue.

    Hello @thanewest,

    Thank you for reaching out!

There is an open report about this issue on GitHub with a proposed pull request, so you can expect a fix to be deployed soon: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/38075

A merchant in the same report mentioned the issue is not present in WooCommerce version 7.5.1 so I suggest you try downgrading as well.

Please let us know if you have any other questions. :?)
