Post Edit issues

  • I have been having an issue with certain parts of the post edit page not working. I have a screen shot here:

    Here are the problems:
    – only able to edit in HTML, if you click on the Visual tab, nothing happens.
    – the top navigation bar disappears
    – if I click on “Screen Options” nothing happens (so what is open in the image are my only options – which does not work for me)
    – if I click “Help” nothing happens
    – I cannot edit the URL
    – when I click on the media icon to upload media, nothing happens

    PLEASE help! This is a new install of WordPress on Media Temple because the last one, for still unexplained reasons, completely stopped being able to edit or use plugins. All of my WordPress installations on other servers work like a charm. I’m suspicious of Media Temple being to blame, but I don’t know why that would be.

  • Typically things like this are conflicts with either a plugin or the theme you are using. So the first things you should do are disable your plugins and see if that fixes the issue. If not, then switch to the default WordPress theme and see if that fixes it.
