Post Excerpt Issue

    I set it up so my posts appear on my Portfolio page under the Reading settings tab, but I can’t figure how to make it so the posts appear as excerpts with a “read more” option rather than appearing as full-length posts.

    When I enable the excerpts option from the screen options on each post, nothing happens. Please let me know an easy fix for this problem.

    The Scrawl theme doesn’t use excerpts on the posts page. You can use the More tag on any posts where you would like the theme to show only a portion of the post.

    You can also try using a plugin that will let you force the posts to show an excerpt. This one looks like it might do what you need, but feel free to make a post in the plugin’s support forum if you have trouble configuring it.

    I’ve been working with Scrawl as well, and came across this issue too. I use a combination of the plugin that David’s recommended, and the ‘Excerpt’ otpion in WP. This way, i can have excerpts up. Without the plugin, the excerpt box in WP doesn’t work in this theme.

    I personally don’t like the way the ‘read more’ tag works Scrawl -it loads the post in a clunky way; using the excerpt-box is cleaner, but ofc u can decide for yourself.
