Post Expirator

I am trying to add some functionality to Post Expirator Plugin. I am designing a website that will have a large group authors, and one item that they have asked for is that the posts, and pages automatically drop to draft status after 6 months. They also would like an email to be sent to the person who created the page/post to be notified that their page has been dropped to draft status. Does anyone of know how to do this with Post Expirator, or of any other method to accomplish this task.
