Post featured image cut off at top and bottom or sides

Post featured images for our site (austchamlao.org) are logos and therefore different shapes and sizes. Most logos are cut off at the top and bottom, or sides, as can be seen on these posts:

Is there a fix for this? The client really likes this theme however this is a problem I’ve not had with other WordPress themes – usually you just upload an image and it resizes/crops automatically.
