post ids large and large gaps?

  • Hello,

    I noticed that while I have maybe 150 posts, my post ids are up to 3500. I scanned the posts in order by date and found gaps between post ids in the 20s and sometimes in the 100s like jumping from 1000 to 1200. I haven’t revised any post 200 times and I haven’t deleted but a few posts.

    Why are the post ids so high?

  • Posts cover almost eveyrthing in your site. Even down to things like menu items. You will always find gaps, and they will always climb up even though you’re not posting much.

    To be honest, it doesn’t matter at all. Not even the slightest. There’s nothing wrong, and it’s nothing that will affect your site in any way at all.
