The retina switch is in Customiz’it > Images. But don’t bother; it won’t work ??
I’ve just realized I have the same issue on my local installation. I installed WordPress 3.8 plus Customizr and lots of other themes, imported my database with WordPress Importer (is this a common thread?) and lost my images too.
<full-troubleshooting-mode>
Local Bitnami 3.5-0;WP 3.8;Customizr 3.1.6. All plugins deactivated.
In this state, images don’t display. But I don’t know how they got detached, as this is my starting state. Maybe they got detached on import, or with some change to WP in 3.8. I did the following:
- Switched to twentyeleven ==> Images still don’t display.
- Re-insert image in twentytwelve ==> Image displays.
- Re-activate Customizr ==> Image displays.
- Delete Customizr and install older Customizr 3.0.15 ==> Image displays.
- Switched to twentyeleven ==> Images display.
- Re-activate Customizr ==> Image displays.
- Upgrade Customizr ==> Image displays.
I even tried upgrading Customizr both while it was active and while it was deactivated, but either way, I couldn’t get it to detach the images.
I also tried adding an image in 3.0.15 and then upgrading to 3.1.6 to see if it lost it, but it was still OK.
Basically, my images all somehow became unattached (possibly on import), but once I’d reattached an image, no theme changes — both upgrading/downgrading and switching — made any difference to the situation.
WP 3.8 upgrade appears not to be the problem, as on my live site, I have successfully upgraded to 3.8 with no problems. I can only conclude in my case that it’s a WordPress Importer problem, as this is the only odd factor for me.
Or it’s something else I’m completely missing….
