Post Images on home page aren't uniform

    Hi-
    When I add posts on my home page, sometimes the pictures appear as their uploaded state (i.e. a portrait shaped picture) and other times the picture appears as an hover-expandable circle like a featured images.

    How do I get my posts to show pictures in the same manner each time I write a new post to my site?

    On the Post admin page, my settings are as follows:
    My layout is “default layout (Left sidebar)”
    My post format is “Standard”
    The Featured image setting (on the right side of the wp-post admin page) does NOT have the image displayed in it; I inserted the image by clicking the Add Media button above the post body text box.

  • If your posts have a featured image, that image is displayed in the posts list with the circle hover effect on. If it doesn’t a featured image, the first image from the post is displayed, without the effect.

    So just go in each post’s edit screen and set the image from the post as featured image and it will show up in lists with the hover effect. The featured image box is displayed at the bottom of the right sidebar by default.

    Don’t forget to save the post after you set the featured image.

    While that clearly should be and has been correct, previously.

    I discovered last night on a clients site that with the new verion 3.0.13 that is not correct.

    I noticed after inputting a few initial Posts without using a “featured image” and only inserting thumbs into the articles, the Posts List Page did in fact display in the Right/Left alternating format along using the inserted post images as featured images (circular format).
