post images re-sizing/blurry
-
I can’t figure out why my blog post images (not the featured images, just images added in post editor) are automatically re-sizing and blurring. I want my images to display at the size in which I uploaded them, but wordpress is automatically shrinking them down.
I tried to add custom CSS to set the entry content img width to 100% but this made every single image stretch to the full width of the page and look really blurry on the post page, despite looking perfectly clear when clicked and opened in a separate window. There are also some smaller images on some pages I’ve added that I don’t want to be full width. I just want my larger images to stop shrinking. I create and save my images in Photoshop at 300dpi with the dimensions that I want them to appear in my blog posts, but there must be a setting somewhere that is overriding these dimensions.
For example, on this page: https://www.summonyourspark.com/effective-to-do-lists/ the main image was uploaded with a width of 1110px (the width of my content area) but WordPress is resizing it to be 610px wide. Likewise, the small orange “bonus” box near the bottom of the post should be 1110px wide but is also being resized to 610px, making the text pixelated and nearly illegible. In my wordpress media settings, I have my max image size set to 1110 wide so I know that’s not the problem.
Can you provide any suggestions on how I can fix this so that images display at the size in which they were uploaded without having to use the 100% width CSS that then stretches every image on every post/page? Thank you.
