Post in FB includes shortcode

When FB Sharing adds post to FB, there is no formatting from post, all text is in one block, and characters like a dash – don’t work.
Posts with slider shortcodes, have no photos, just list of text from photos added at bottom of post ‘block’.
Used free version then bought Pro version, thinking there was more control over posts, but results are just the same.
Am I missing something?
