Post Intro on front page

I am pretty sure, there will be a much easier way, but I have used the following code-snippet …

After I put it in the php-file of my customizrs child-theme, the theme-options offered an additional widget-area named “featured pages widget”.
And there I used a text-widget.

As I said, there will be something easier, maybe more confortable But it works as a quick solution for a few words and sentences.

Now my entire site is coming up with a 500 Internal Server Error. Could this be from editing the php-file?

Oh … I am not a PHP-Guru, so I dont know, what happened.

I mentioned above, that I used my child-theme. May be, I should have stated clearer, that I did.
Usually the code-snippets came with the advice, to use a child-theme. This snippet did not, as I see now.
