Post isn’t Searching/Indexing
-
Recently my blog posts have not been returning on search engine queries. I have never had a problem with it for years, and hadn’t posted for a long time. Then I did brought in several ad hoc web developers and supposed SEO experts when my page views started declining significantly in the last year, and they have caused several issues. I began posting again and since, the posts are not searching well.
Initially, the posts (2 total) did not search at all. Now they will search, but only with an exact match between query and result. For context, these posts are far and away the most comprehensive information re: their subject matter in the industry. They are not oversaturated. I know this because for many years I had several of the number one search results for particular keywords in my industry. Even if the posts are not as competitive as I think they are, it does not make sense for my posts to go from regularly being page 1 Google returns to now untraceable.
More context — readability on these posts is red. I also need to update WordPress. But neither of these seem to explain it completely — I have other posts with bad readability which, though not top performers, did fine. Before I make any changes, I am looking for help to understand if there’s an under-the-hood issue with my website that would prevent indexing. And yes, I’ve made sure that my settings allow search engines to index my content.
