    Hi there,

I’ve built a beta site for my website so I can monkey around with the theme and figure out what I want my real site to look like – so the content might look a little wonky.

Essentially, I’m interested in changing the layout of the blog snippets on the home page.

    Here’s my site:
    beta.wanderingoff.ca

And here’s what I want the snippets to look like, below where it says “latest from the blog”:
    https://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/

Mostly, I want the snippets to be landscape rather than portrait – the copy beside rather than underneath.

My homepage is “front page displays – latest posts” rather than “static page” and I don’t have the premium edition. I have downloaded PageBuilder, but new stuff often drives me to eat a lot of ice cream and whimper.

And, for bonus points – am I limited to three items across in the slider? I only want one row, but if I could cram 4 or 5 pics in there, I’d be happy. Or, speed up the slider?

Any hints? Go easy on me – I can poke around a bit, tweak code here and there, and I know that I’ve skipped some basics (child theme) but I promise I’ll behave myself on my real site.

Many thanks or anything you might offer.
    Cheers,
    Michelle

  • Hey,
    1. The latest posts, If you have a full width home page your posts will be like the demo here: https://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue/ But since your using a sidebar there is less space and the image moves above the content. Which is what you got.

    2. The portfolio carousel is defaulted to three columns in the free theme. Premium has options for whatever you want but free is limited in that area. If you wanted to speed up the carousel you would need to edit the code in virtue/templates/home/portfolio-carousel.php line 83. change the “timeoutDuration” and also on like 102.

    Hope that helps,

This is brilliant, thanks so much. I’ve mucked around with a bunch of themes and this one is rather user friendly and hasn’t made me weep like others have. I’ll look into the upgrade and see what additional perks are there.
Really appreciate it, and thanks for the quick response.
