Post Name Duplicate in URL

    Hi there,

    It has come to my attention that Google is indexing strange non existent URLs under ‘Indexed, not submitted in sitemap’ for my website.

    The URLs contains my post name twice in the URL and completely ignores the category: https://www.website.com/postname/postname/

    If I try visit this URL it 301 redirects me to the correct URL: https://www.website.com/category/postname

    There is around 20 of these strange URLs under ‘Indexed, not submitted in sitemap’.

    Note: My custom permalink structure is /%category%/%postname%/

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Would you be able to provide one of the URLs as an example, so that we can check on what is redirecting the odd URLs to the correct post URL? This can frequently offer a clue as to what might be causing the URLs.
